The 25th conference of BOBCATSSS will be held at University of Tampere, Finland, on 25th to 27th of January in 2017. The conference is organized by the students of University of Tampere in cooperation with Hanze University of Applied Sciences (The Netherlands) and Oslo and Akershus University College of Applied Sciences (Norway).
The title of the conference is: “Quality of life through information” covering the fields of Libraries, Information and Interactive media. Libraries can educate people when it comes to different types of information that could have an important impact on people’s health and selfawareness. The information subtopic covers e.g. seeking and management in relation to the quality of life, as well as many aspects of open data. As a recent addition to BOBCATSSS, the field of Interactive Media has subtopics such as “social media” and “instruction and learning through games and virtual reality”.
Please see the official website of the conference for updated information (http://bobcatsss2017.com/). Tampere is a moderately sized city, yet it is the largest inland centre in the Nordic countries. All the conference venues and many locations of accommodation are located within walking distance from the city centre. Tampere is also one of the top conference destinations in Finland, because it offers both great services for the hosting of the conference and reasonably priced services for the participants.
